Summer 2015 hot chart

For some it was 2 months ago. For others it was at the beginning of October. For us the summer holiday ended yeasterday. On this occasion we would like to present you with our summer 2015 hot chart, with some minor and major recommendations.

The picnic basket

As we moved in together last winter, we got it from our friends for the new path of life – I couldn’t wait to finally make use of it! Eventually, summer came and the picnic season started, we took the beauty to Berlin. That was a hard journey, probably the worst luggage you could imagine – but what a picnic…

Picnic in Hasenheide Park, Berlin

Berlin

You’ve probably got that yet, we could talk endlessly about this city. But so as not to make this post too long, let us restrain our Berlin-fetishism today and just recall some of our favourite moments:

This summer I’ve decided to get my own bike, not one of those that your father would buy – practical as a swiss army knife, but just as ugly. I have gone for one of those that you could use instead of the car and nobody would think you have done that because you cannot afford gas. But as pretty things have it, one trip to Berlin later my bike was utterly worn-out. I still think it’s manufacturers fault, so take my advice and don’t buy Romet bikes,

Shooting things in slow motion

Shooting things is awesome. But as old folk saying has it: everything is better in slowmo. And it really is, this year countryside-trip with my friends went far better then ever, mostly because we spend one whole day on the pier at the lake shooting various stuff and filming it in slow motion.

European Solidarity Centre

I wouldn’t like to sound too serious, but this is the best museum I have ever been to. Ever. As I was entering, I planned to stay one and a half hour at most. I left after over four, almost crying. Forget about school, forget the books – this is how modern history should be taught. The exhibition appeals to all of our senses, taking us for a journey, that starts in the 70’s and lasts up ’till now. I’ve never been more proud to be Polish.

Cambridge

Probably the biggest event of a decade – my little sister has just become a student at Cambridge. CAMBRIDGE!!! (or was it Oxford? OK, OK, just kidding) I’m lost for words, she’s probably the wisest person I know. Seriously, I can’t believe!
By the way, I’ll go visit her at the beginning of next year, I’ll keep you updated.

It has been quite a while since I have played games at a daily manner, but this summer was a game changer. I have started with some good old Total War series game(empire for this case). Only to discover that after conquering eastern India and making Vienna center of the world, I have started raiding Spanish treasure convoys in western India and then tried to save the world from the Wild Hunt… man these thing are addictive!

Back to the Future

if 21 st of october 2015 means nothing to you, then you are a difficult case, the only way to mend that rift in your cultural education would be to watch Back to the Future as soon as possible. Afterwards you surely join the group of inveterate dreamers who urge scientists to discover Hoverboards immediately (SPOILER ALERT: 21 of october 2015, is the day that Marty Mc Fly moves to)

Smoothies

I got a new Morphy Richards blender for my birthday this year, what gave me a huge kick to try and discover new smoothie recipes. Here you have some of my summer favorites: the banana-peanut milkshake and mango lassi!

Tabbouleh-inspired salad

Everyone’s favourite. You can laugh, that I keep writing about food all the time, but this is the best dish for literally any occasion: breakfast, party, dinner, BBQ, picnic… I haven’t met a single person who wouldn’t like it, but many, who would ask for a recipe. Here’s the secret of the salad: you can make it with anything you want, every ingredient fits it perfectly.
